Huairou Laboratory Holding the Signing Ceremony for Cooperation with Sinopec, CSG and CHN Energy

On the morning of December 30, the Signing Ceremony for Cooperation Among Huairou Laboratory, China Petrochemical Corporation ("Sinopec"), China Southern Power Grid ("CSG"), and CHN Energy Investment Group ("CHN Energy") & the Unveiling Ceremony for the Co-constructed Research Institution were grandly held in the start-up area of Huairou Laboratory. Relevant leaders of the Laboratory, Sinopec, CSG and CHN Energy attended the event.

Director of Huairou Laboratory said that Huairou Laboratory had been carrying out strategic cooperation with universities and central enterprises since its establishment, to bring together superior scientific research power and therefore comprehensively promote scientific researches. The in-depth cooperation and co-construction of research institution with these three central enterprises were a major practice to deeply implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping. Leveraging on its platform role, Huairou Laboratory would give full play to its "pacesetter" and "vanguard" resource advantages, strengthen its core team by adhering to the "Four Facings", and resolutely win the battle to tackle key and core technologies.

All parties present at the event said that the cooperation and co-construction were an organic integration of superior scientific and technological forces, an innovative breakthrough in the scientific research organization model, and a practical exploration of new institutional mechanisms. The cooperation was conducive to the Laboratory to rapidly achieving scale and improving scientific research capabilities. Meanwhile, the cooperation would help the central enterprises to further solidify their industry status and better realize high-quality development. All parties should bear the macro picture in mind and promote the "breaking of circles" and structural optimization of scientific research teams, to drive multi-disciplinary intersection and integrated innovation. They should promote the formation of a "chain" of industry-university-research collaboration, jointly explore new models for the transfer of results, and effectively utilize the large chain of R&D, production, and finance. Huairou Laboratory should give full play to its institutional advantages of as an innovation platform, strengthen the construction of innovation talent teams, carry out researches to tackle key and core technologies, and contribute to China's sci-tech self-reliance and self-strengthening at higher levels in the energy field.
