Delegation of State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company Visits Huairou Laboratory for Cooperation

On March 5, a delegation headed by Wang Xinwei, Chairman of State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company visited Huairou Laboratory and met with Huairou Laboratory Director Tang Guangfu and Academician Chen Weijiang. The two sides made discussions on deepening collaborative innovation in specific areas, promoting the application of research results, and strengthening the training of young talents. Also present at the meeting were leaders of State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company and Huairou Laboratory, as well as responsible persons of relevant functional departments and affiliated units of the two sides.

Both sides agreed that Huairou Laboratory, as a national-level science and technology innovation platform, focuses on the carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals and the major strategic needs in the energy sector, concentrates its efforts on breaking through core technologies in key areas, and actively explores innovations in scientific research systems. It has established a research team quickly, produced remarkable results successively and made significant progress in construction. State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company, as the window and backbone enterprise serving the capital, adheres to the consciousness, standards, and pioneering spirit of the capital. While ensuring security and reliability of the capital's power supply, the company is actively engaged in scientific and technological innovation and has taken a path of high-quality development with characteristics unique to Beijing.

The two sides have broad prospects for cooperation in many aspects such as scientific research, talent cultivation, demonstration and application of achievements, and implementation and transformation of research results. They hoped that in the future, through a closer cooperation model, to fully utilize the platform function and institutional advantages of Huairou Laboratory, based on the talent resources and application scenarios of State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company, to jointly make demand-oriented collaborative innovation, promote the mobility and cultivation of young talents, deepen the substantial integration of innovation chain and industrial chain, and work together to create a virtuous cycle of innovation ecosystem.

Next, the two sides will base themselves on the scientific research layout of Huairou Laboratory and the resource advantages of State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company, promote the establishment of a long-term mechanism for stable cooperation, jointly make breakthroughs in key technologies, promote the demonstration application of related scientific and technological achievements in Beijing, and make greater contributions to serving the development of Beijing in the new era and supporting China’s national energy strategy.
