Release Time:2024-12-13

On December 9, the 5th New Power System International Forum and the 20th China Southern Power Grid (CSG) International Science and Technology Forum convened in Boao, Hainan.

Director Tang Guangfu was invited to participate in the forum, where he delivered a keynote speech titled "China's Energy Transition Pathways and Frontier Key Technologies." In his speech, Director Tang addressed China's energy endowment and development status, focusing on the goals and challenges of the country's energy transition. He explored the pathways and development measures for energy transition from three main aspects: large-scale clean energy, fossil fuels cleaning up, and multiple energy integration. Furthermore, he analyzed five frontier key technologies that support the energy transition, providing a reference for the construction of China’s next generation energy system.

The theme of this forum was “Building the New Power System Faster to Serve the Development of New Quality Productive Forces.” The event featured addresses by distinguished guests including Feng Fei, Governor of Hainan Province; Meng Zhenping, Chairman of China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd.; and He Yang, Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration. Academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering—Li Licheng, Shu Yinbiao, Liu Jizhen, and Rao Hong—as well as Marcio Szechtman, former Vice-Chairman of CIGRE, and Xu Shukai, Head of the Next Generation Power System Research Center at Huairou Laboratory, were among the many scholars and experts from home and abroad who presented keynote speeches on critical technology directions such as China's energy transition, the building of next generation power systems, and innovative developments in hydrogen energy.
