Beijing Institute of Smart Energy Being Officially Unveiled

The founding and unveiling ceremony of the Beijing Institute of Smart Energy (hereinafter "Smart Energy Research Institute") was held in Beijing on July 5. The Director of Huairou Laboratory attended the ceremony and delivered a speech, giving important instructions on the significance, functional positioning, and future goals and tasks of the Smart Energy Research Institute. He required that all employees of the Smart Energy Research Institute should unify their ideological understanding and practical actions into the Laboratory's decisions and deployment and accelerate the advancement of scientific research tasks with greater synergy.

The Smart Energy Research Institute, which is directly managed by Huairou Laboratory, is a new type of R&D institution jointly established by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and the State Grid Corporation of China. With a mission of serving national strategic goals in the energy field, the Smart Energy Research Institute targets at the major strategic needs in the process of energy transition under the "dual carbon" goal. It systematically carries out technical breakthrough projects, process experiments, and researches on basic theories and cutting-edge technologies, so as to support the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system in China. The Smart Energy Research Institute will strive to become a national scientific and technological force in the energy field.
