Top Leaders of North China Electric Power University Delegation Visit Huairou Laboratory

On February 14th, a delegation from North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), led by Wang Qinghua, Party Secretary, and Bi Tianshu, President and Deputy Party Secretary of the university, visited Huairou Laboratory for a research exchange. They engaged in in-depth discussions with Tang Guangfu, Director of Huairou Laboratory and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, focusing on advancing research into core technologies and exploring the construction of a new innovation system. Fang Li, Deputy Secretary-General of Huairou Laboratory, also participated in the visit.

Tang Guangfu expressed his gratitude for NCEPU’s support since the establishment of Huairou Laboratory, including in areas such as team formation, talent cultivation, and resource sharing. He stated that the Laboratory is committed to a new type of national system, focusing on strategic, forward-looking, and fundamental scientific and technological research in the energy sector. By innovating research mechanisms and adopting new models of open collaboration, he said, the Laboratory aims to accelerate scientific innovation and research. Tang emphasized the hope that Huairou Laboratory would further strengthen its cooperation with NCEPU, integrate the advantages of both sides, and jointly tackle scientific research challenges. He also highlighted the importance of accelerating the integration of industry, academia, and research to promote energy transition and ensure national energy security through technological innovation in energy and power.


Wang Qinghua conveyed that NCEPU is dedicated to fully implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important educational thoughts and the new national energy security strategy. From the perspective of advancing China's modernization strategy, he said, NCEPU aims to engage in supporting Huairou Laboratory's development through comprehensive and high-quality collaboration. The university will continue to play a leading role in fundamental research and major technological breakthroughs and will further strengthen its support for Huairou Laboratory’s technological innovation efforts, he added. This includes accelerating breakthroughs in strategic and critical core technologies, contributing to achieving high-level technological self-reliance and strength in the energy sector.


Key staff members from the Office of General Administration, Department of Science and Innovation, and Department of Graduate Affairs of Huairou Laboratory, as well as responsible persons from NCEPU’s Graduate School, Science and Technology Research Institute, and Office of External Liaison and Cooperation, participated in the visit.
