Release Time:2025-04-15

On April 8, a delegation led by Director Lyu Wenbin of the Energy Research Institute (ERI) of Academy of Macroeconomic Research visited Huairou Laboratory for a research exchange. The delegation held in-depth discussions with Director Tang Guangfu on key issues regarding the development of the next generation power system and new energy framework. The visit was also attended by Deputy Secretary-General Fang Li, Assistant Directors Dong Anyou and Pang Hui, and relevant department heads.

Director Tang Guangfu warmly welcomed Director Lyu Wenbin and his team. He stated that the Laboratory adheres to the new national system and is dedicated to establishing the country's strategic technological leadership and pillars in the energy sector. The Laboratory focuses on addressing key challenges in building the new energy system, particularly by resolving "bottleneck" issues in the process and contributing to the realization of China's high-level technological self-reliance and strength. He expressed hope that the Laboratory and the Energy Research Institute would enhance communication and collaboration in major strategic planning, policy research, and talent development, and actively voice the needs of the industry to jointly promote the innovation and development of energy science and technology.

Director Lyu Wenbin emphasized that as a national-level research institution for comprehensive studies on China's energy issues, the Energy Research Institute plays a critical role in national energy policy research and decision-making consultation. The Institute has long been committed to providing theoretical foundations and policy recommendations for the formulation of energy development strategies, plans, regulations, and technical standards. The Energy Research Institute will fully leverage its role as a national think tank for energy policy, track major technological developments at the Laboratory, and deepen cooperation with the Laboratory. The two sides will enhance mutual learning and exchange, jointly serve the national energy science and technology strategy, the needs of energy transformation, and the achievement of dual carbon goals, thereby ensuring the nation’s energy security.
