Huairou Lab Researchers Honored with 2023 National Science and Technology Awards

On June 24, the national sci-tech conference, the national science and technology award conference, and the general assemblies of the members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering were held in Beijing. President Xi Jinping and other senior state leaders presented China's top sci-tech awards to the recipients. Among the honorees were three research achievements led by scientists from Huairou Laboratory:
The project "Comprehensive Technology and Equipment for Safe and Efficient Development of Offshore Wind Power and Its Industrialization," led by Dr. Wang Liangyou, principal researcher at the lab, was bestowed with the First-Class Prize for National Science and Technology Progress.
The project "Key Technologies of Flexible DC Converters and Their Applications," spearheaded by Academician Tang Guangfu, director of Huairou Laboratory, was awarded the Second-Class Prize for National Technical Inventions.
The project "High-Voltage High-Capacity DC Interrupting Semiconductor Devices, Key Technologies, and Series of DC Circuit Breakers," under the direction of Professor Zeng Rong, principal researcher at the lab, also received the Second-Class Prize for National Technical Inventions.
