Release Time:2024-05-23
On May 16, 2024, Huairou Laboratory, as the lead unit of the project, organized a kick-off meeting of the National Key Research and Development Program project "Key Technologies for Ultra-High-Voltage Multi-Terminal DC Transmission of Large-Scale Renewable Energy Base", involving two topics, namely Topic 1 "Topological Theoretical Construction of Ultra-High-Voltage Multi-Terminal DC Systems with Temporal and Spatial Characteristics of Renewable Energy" and Topic 4 "High-Voltage, High-Capacity IGCT Devices and New Converter Equipment Technologies for Large-Scale Renewable Energy Base Transmission". The meeting was attended by experts and leaders from 10 organizations including Inner Mongolia Power Group, China Southern Power Grid, China Electrotechnical Society, China Electric Power Research Institute, Three Gorges Renewable Energy Research Institute, and Tsinghua University.
The meeting invited Zheng Yaodong from China Southern Power Grid to serve as the leader of the expert group. At the meeting, Huairou Laboratory reported the requirements on project organization and financial management. The leaders of Topic 1 and Topic 4 presented the implementation plans of their projects and clarified the internal connections between the two topics and their positioning in the entire project, respectively. The expert group inquired and discussed the implementation plans, unanimously agreeing that the project organization and financial management methods of the lead unit are standardized and reasonable, and that the contents of the of implementation plans are complete, with clear ideas, feasible technical routes, reasonable plans, clear division of tasks, and controllable risks.
The project focuses on the regional advantages and the landscape resources endowment of Inner Mongolia, actively responds to national development strategies, gathers research teams in related fields, and has received high attention and support from government leaders, expert groups, and leaders of the lead unit of the project. The research contents are important and are expected to blaze a new path for the development of a large-scale new energy bases in Gobi deserts and energy consumption.
Relevant responsible persons of Huairou Laboratory New-type Electric Power System Research Center and Inner Mongolia Power (Group) Co., Ltd. made speeches on behalf of the lead units of the topics and the project, respectively, expressing their willingness to take on the responsibilities as lead unit, work effectively to organize and manage the project, promptly follow up and implement the latest national policy requirements, work together with all participating research units, seek truth and be practical in tackling key issues, break through technical bottlenecks, and ensure that all research tasks are fulfilled on schedule and that demonstration projects are completed and put into operation on time.
