The International Academic Exchange Event "Technical Issues and Challenges in the Energy Transition Process" Being Successfully Held
Release Time:2023-10-26
On October 17th, the laboratory invited Prof. Umberto Desideri, Head of the Department of Energy, Systems, Territory and Construction Engineering of the University of Pisa, to visit the Laboratory for academic exchanges. Nearly 20 researchers participated in the seminar.
At beginning, Prof. Umberto Desideri gave an academic report on "Technical Issues and Challenges in the Energy Transition Process". He pointed out that energy transition was very important to increase the proportion of renewable energy, reduce dependence on fossil fuels and cope with climate change. He said that it was necessary to learn from mistakes in the energy transition process in the past and present, so as to speed up and correctly pass the critical period of energy transition. During the exchange, participants talked about issues such as "the progress and development prospects of European CCUS technology", "how to utilize nuclear energy", "the impact of large-scale integration of renewable energy on the dynamic stability of the power grid", etc.
At the end of the exchange, researcher of the lab gave an academic sharing titled "Carbon Neutral and Reliable Energy System on basis of CCUS". He mainly talked about how fossil energy and traditional energy technology can find their new position in the future energy system, how to understand their relationship with new energy, and how to find the direction for technological breakthroughs, etc. Such topics will become cutting-edge and hot issues in the field of energy technology.
The exchange not only broadens international horizons of the Laboratory, but will also bring about more academic cooperation and exploration. The atmosphere was relaxed and lively, attracting members from different research teams. Participants took a group photo after the exchange.
