Researchers of Huairou Laboratory Attending APCSCRM 2023

Release Time:2023-11-14

Researchers of the Laboratory attended the 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials (APCSCRM 2023) from November 9 to 10. The APCSCRM 2023 was hosted by Innovation Association of Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Technology (IAWBS), Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Semiconductor Material Industry Association (SMIA), and Chinese Crystallographic Society.

The APCSCRM has been successfully held for three sessions since its first session was held in Beijing, China in 2018, with a total of more than 2,000 attendances in all previous sessions, nearly 200 reports published and shared, and attracting over 700 enterprises to participate. The APCSCRM has now become a high-level forum in the Asia-Pacific region that focuses on the wide bandgap semiconductor industry. APCSCRM 2023 invited more than 60 renowned experts, scholars, and business leaders around the world to share the latest research progress of global wide bandgap semiconductor technologies, exchange forward-looking views of the industry, showcase the advanced achievements of enterprises, and promote industry interconnection.

Researcher of HRL was invited by the host to preside over the "Devices and Application" sub-forum. She delivered a keynote speech titled "Analysis on Development of Silicon Carbide MOSFET" on November 9, introducing the development of silicon carbide MOSFET technologies in recent years, analyzing the major challenges currently encountered, and sharing the basic situation of the scientific research team and related research progress with the participating experts and scholars. The report was unanimously affirmed by the experts present at the conference. After the report, she further communicated with experts and scholars in the field to discuss the frontiers of academic development and relevant theories in the field of silicon carbide devices.

At the same time, researchers interacted with the guest speakers, asked questions and had in-depth exchanges on the scientific research progress and industrial frontiers of silicon carbide devices. They established further contacts with them after the conference and discussed the direction of future cooperation.

The conference invited nearly a hundred companies to showcase their products and latest industrialization progress. Many companies exhibited their recent results especially for 8-inch silicon carbide wafers. Researchers of the Laboratory communicated and established contacts with many relevant companies, thereby laying the foundation for future business cooperation. Meanwhile, researchers of the Laboratory actively established contacts with well-known experts and scholars from the University of Tokyo in Japan, Infineon in Germany, and the University of Hong Kong, to promote overseas talent introduction and international cooperation and exchanges.
